Earth, Wind and Fire Tuner Hot Feet to Jump to Broadway's Hilton Theatre 4/15

The Earth, Wind and Fire musical Hot Feet has found its Broadway home in the large Hilton Theatre. The show, conceived, directed and choreographed by Maurice Hines, will begin Broadway performances on April 15 following a tryout at Washington D.C.'s National Theatre.

Hot Feet tells the Faustian tale of a beautiful young dancer, Kalimba, whose life's dream is to be a Broadway dancer. Kalimba is cajoled to dance with a pair of magical and enchanted red shoes, and when she puts them on, they begin to take control of the talented dancer's fate. The show features a book by Heru Ptah best known for writing the book A Hip-Hop Story. Earth, Wind and Fire founder Maurice White has written original music and lyrics for Hot Feet>/I>, but it will also feature the group's classic hits, including "Shining Star," "September," "Boogie Wonderland" and "After the Love Has Gone."

Hot Feet will have its pre-Broadway run at D.C.'s National Theatre from March 21 three days later than originally announced through April 9. It is scheduled to officially open in New York previews on April 30.

The Hilton Theatre has been vacant since Chitty Chitty Bang Bang closed on December 31.
